INTENÇÃO, 2010


Visitei o Monte Quimera na cidade Olympus (Turquia), onde chamas eternas vazam por entre as rochas. O fenômeno varia entre grandes labaredas e pequenos focos de fogo e fumaça. Foram estes últimos cheios de movimentos e tamanha insistência em manter-se acesos que chamaram minha atenção. Registrei o acontecimento em uma sequência de fotos apresentadas em vídeo stop-motion.

I visited Mount Chimaera in the city of Olympus (Turkey), where eternal flames leak through the rocks. The phenomenon varies between huge flames and small outbreaks of fire and smoke. The latter were filled with such movement and persistence in keeping themselves lit that they caught my attention. I recorded the event in a sequence of images presented in stop-motion.
